Non-Punitive Reporting Policy Statement

 

At 7AIR, our goal is to cultivate and foster a generative safety culture where employees and customers are encouraged and comfortable bringing safety concerns to the attention of management.

1. No Retaliation: No individual will be penalized or retaliated against for reporting safety issues to management. Safe operations are 7AIR’s highest priority. To uphold this commitment, it is essential that all incidents and occurrences compromising the safety of our operations are reported without hesitation or fear of reprisal. 

2. Employee Responsibility: We ask that every employee take responsibility for reporting any information that may impact flight safety. Employees are assured that this reporting will never result in disciplinary action, thereby promoting a timely and uninterrupted flow of safety information. 

3. Disciplinary Exceptions: 7AIR will not initiate disciplinary action against any employee who reports an incident or occurrence related to flight safety. However, this policy does not extend to criminal offenses, international law violations, or regulatory infractions. 

4. Safety Reporting: 7AIR has safety reporting capability through the SMS PRO databases, for employees to report concerns regarding flight safety. This database is designed to protect the identity of the reporting employee. 

5. Commitment to Safety: We encourage all employees to utilize this reporting system to ensure that 7AIR continues its leadership in maintaining the highest standards of flight safety for both our customers and employees.

If any employee feels they have been subject to disciplinary action or discrimination after reporting a safety issue, they may request a review of the situation with the Director of Safety and their immediate supervisor, as applicable.

7AIR Employee Reporting Policy

As outlined in 7AIR's Non-Punitive Reporting Policy, no employee shall be disciplined or discriminated against for reporting health or safety concerns to company management. It is only through teamwork that unsafe or unhealthy conditions or practices can be corrected. Our primary objective is to enhance safety, and we understand that unreported faulty conditions cannot be addressed unless employees trust the process and are assured protection against retaliation.

The success of our Safety Management System (SMS) and accident prevention efforts relies on the support and commitment of every employee. However, discipline may be warranted if the reported incident is found to be the result of reckless or willful behavior.

Exceptions to the Non-Punitive Reporting Policy: 

Reckless Violation: This involves more culpability than negligence. It occurs when an individual consciously takes an unjustified risk, knowing that their actions could likely cause harm. Unlike negligence—where a person fails to recognize a risk that should have been identified—recklessness entails a deliberate disregard of an apparent risk. 

 Intentional "Willful" Violation: This occurs when a person knows or foresees the potential consequences of their actions but proceeds regardless.

Any incident that may warrant discipline will undergo a thorough investigation, and the results will be reviewed by Management before any disciplinary action is taken. The assumption is that the actions under review have contributed to, or resulted in, a serious incident.
